While it’s not quite swords into ploughshares, the
fishermen of Emsworth every year,
take time from their toils to stack their pots,
into a tree at the end of the pier.
A gesture of fun while the sun’s at its
dimmest and frost grips the bones in a chill,
spreads cheer the length of the harbour, and,
provides the lobsters some peace and goodwill.
